I am Aga Paulina Młyńczak (b. 1990, Wrocław), a mixed-media artist and researcher, and a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art based in Glasgow, exploring the interplay between language, translation, and their sonic and spatial properties. My practice encompasses installations, participatory art, and procedural narrations, aimed at investigating and broadening our understanding of communication and community dynamics. Rooted in themes of social policy and access, my work is informed by research within LGBTQ+ and migrant artistic practices and reflects a commitment to inclusivity and dialogue.
I have exhibited internationally, including participation in Thierry Geoffroy, a.k.a. Colonel's Emergency Room collaborative exhibition. My work has been showcased at venues such as the Workers Museum in Copenhagen, Dome of Visions, Verdens Kultur Centret, Bucharest Experimental Film Festival, Studio Pavilion, Radiphrenia, Embassy Gallery, Trongate 103, Street Level Photoworks, LingComm Conference, and The Revelator (Glasgow International Festival fringe).
Recently, I contributed to the set design for "Sonar;;Sauna" at the 2024 Take Me Somewhere Festival (Glasgow, Tramway) and served as an Artist Speaker at the Turning the Tide Summit 2024. Recent residencies include ISSP Riga and Cove Park. Currently, I am developing a sound work supported by Creative Scotland Open Fund for Individuals.
